About me

Hi there, my name is Aya Yacoubi. I am a 18-year old senior in my highschool, The Calandlyceum of Amsterdam. After graduation I want to study something in the field of biology. Right now my eye is on bioinformatics
 

I have several hobbies: martial arts kyokushinkai (a karate-style), now practicing for 9 years and blue-belted; gaming especially open-world, storyline-based, singleplayer games, but I don't mind playing online games with friends; reading, but I'm very picky, while my motherlanguage is Dutch, I prevere reading in English, reason for that is because I mostly ready sci-fi/fictional books and those are just better written in English; and lastly, drawing, I both draw on paper and digitaly and have been practicing my skills for the last four years, I am a self-taught artist and mostly learn by watching tutorials, this skill is especialy usefull for O&O.

Update sep. 2024:
 Biology-major; yes still practicing kyokushinkai, but I am brown-belted now; hobbies are all still the same but I want to add crocheting and candle making, I don't know why either, but they're pretty relaxing hobbies for a cozy rainy day. I love baking too (only baking, not cooking >:( ). I see baking as form of chemistry and art combined.

A "compententieroos" as we call it in Dutch, literally translates to "compentence-rose". The diagram below is what my compententieroos looks like. The diagram is made by filling in several questions about: communication, creativity, enterprising, project-based, collaborative and self-managing. The higher you score, the bigger the so-called "rose" gets.
